Learn to swim

The learn to swim programme is aimed at younger children from reception school age.
The pool floor is lifted allowing for the smallest of children to build confidence in the water without being out of their depth.
Regular assessment of the children will ensure they are progressing through the stages from Ducklings 1 through to Stage 6, as their individual skills develop.
In these sessions the pool is divided up into a number of sections depending on ability, and the children swim across the width of the pool.

Day of the Week Session Time Cost of Session
Friday 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm £3.00

Intermediate swimmers

Once the children are beyond stage 6 and can demonstrate an ability to swim all four strokes (butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke and front crawl), they move up to be an intermediate swimmer.
In these sessions, the pool floor is not raised in the deep end to allow for the teaching of diving, and children must be able to swim the 25 metre lengths.
